Xerique Dracul

Xerique Dracul’s work explores themes of community-building, communication across cultures, and the importance of sexuality, with colourful characters who are all drawn together by their common experience of being those that society deems monstrous—whether they’re disabled, queer, non-Christian, or other minorities found in real life, or whether they’re vampires, shapeshifters, and horrors from beyond the stars.

Born & raised in Anaheim to a behind-the-scenes showbiz family full of raconteurs, Dracul has lived all over the USA, gathering experiences to use in stories. Dracul went to school for writing as a young person, as well as studying adaptation, film, costuming, animation, and various other adjacent disciplines. When not writing, can be found watching: cartoons, murder mysteries that don't have cops, and schlocky horror movies.
